Dr. David Harnick is a board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist who provides exceptional cardiovascular care at Heartwise Cardiology in the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York City.

While he treats the full range of heart conditions, he specializes in helping patients with cardiac arrhythmias, dizziness, and syncope. He specializes in implanting cardiac devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators, and he is an expert in performing a full range of cardiac ablations.

He has been placing Implantable Loop Recorders (ILRs) in the convenience of his office as a quick, safe, and easy procedure to help diagnose and treat arrhythmias.

Dr. Harnick received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he graduated summa cum laude as a Henry Rutgers Scholar Award recipient. He then graduated with his Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

During his second year in medical school, he was awarded a research scholarship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator Program. He successfully cloned the first calcium channel in human T-cells, which contributed to understanding the mechanisms involved in cellular signaling. After completing his internal medicine residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City, Dr. Harnick returned to Mount Sinai to pursue advanced training in general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

In addition to being named to the New York Times Super Doctors of New York, Dr. Harnick has also been featured in Castle Connolly Best Physicians. He often lectures medical professionals on atrial fibrillation and anticoagulation management and stays involved in clinical trials on multiple studies from cardiac devices to new pharmacologic agents.

Dr. Harnick is affiliated with two prestigious New York City hospitals - The Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital. He serves as an assistant clinical professor at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a clinical instructor at Lenox Hill, where he is involved in regular teaching of cardiology fellows.
